TwistShake Baby Review

When @twistshakebaby reached out to me, to be honest I hadn’t heard of them, but I took a look at their website and I loved the simplicity yet cool look of their products, so agreed to a collaboration. When the 360ml beakers arrived I realised that they were non-spill which is a huge winner! They also look a more grown up then their usual beakers. Usually the boys are terrible drinkers, but since having these I’m continually refilling them. I don’t even understand why, but we’re getting through so many more nappies🙊

Leaving My Job After 8 Years

The last few weeks have been super hard for me. I’ve gained a few pounds from stress eating, and spending my evenings feeling sorry for myself or in bed with a migraine. On Wednesday I was officially made redundant, with my last working day being tomorrow.

I don’t usually open up like this I’ve been battling stress and anxiety for a while now.   Although I really don’t like change, I don’t think it could have come at a better time really.

I’m so looking forward to a break to be a SAHM for a little while. I need to work on making me better. I’ve let everything get on top of me, but I finally feel that once Tuesday is out the way I can regain my control over my life and home again.

With having HG (Morning Sickness) whilst pregnant, I never felt like I properly nested. Then after having the boys I felt like I was drowning. I was so overwhelmed, that my house went to the bottom of the list of priorities. Then the tasks build up. I even write lists. I lie awake thinking of all the things I need to do tomorrow, and yet the following day comes and I don’t know where to start, and overthink it so much I end up doing nothing.

I need to take serious control over my life. Regain structure and routine, and the first step is to overhaul the house. I’m a hoarder, but it needs to stop! At the end of the day, the disorganisation makes me sadder than holding onto a dress that will never fit me again.

Over the past couple of months @mrshinchhome_x_ has given me some inspiration and equipment to make tasks easier, so my day to day tasks are being kept on top of.

Who knows by 2019 I’ll have a home pretty enough to show off on Instagram and pinterest 😂💕

What the boys got for their 2nd birthday

I'm not one to have a huge pile of gifts for the boys, and most were picked up throughout the year when on sale etc.

The Amazon fire was their big present. When growing up our more extravagant gifts were given at Christmas, and usually I’d say I will check to that logic, but Amazon prime day came around that it was too much of a good deal to miss out on. They may be a little young, but in just a couple of weeks they have grasped how to use it better than I have.
Look at them helping each other 😍

Other gifts included:

  • ELC My first Till (Currently on sale for £7.67!) It offers numbers 1-4, colours, and 4 simple foods. The boys love it.
  • Little Tikes Cash register - £11 or 2 for £15 at Argos! The best thing we've brought, honestly! This thing keeps them quiet for ages.
  • Wooden blocks - Very simple, but we only just felt comfortable with them not killing each other with them.
  • Pairs game. Simple words and pictures to encourage their vocabulary.
  • Weber BBQ - To be daddies mini me's! We wish we'd brought two though, as the arguments have been unbearable.

Personalised Costco cake £16.99 (HUGE)
Mickey Mouse cupcakes from @hertfordcakesco #gifted
Personalised banner from the @partypieces

Personalised letter box cake from @bakerdays #gifted
The boys tucking into the party food waiting for the guests to arrive. Yes it rained,  but it was still an amazing day!

Bibado Bib Review

Alfresco dining ☀️ You probably saw my story a couple of weeks ago I was talking about the @bibado bibs I was sent. We have put them through their paces using our Ikea high chairs and our travel ones (pictured) and they are brilliant. They catch all the food that would usually end up on their trousers.
